-Video (in progress of filming- next step edit)

-Breeze articles (David is going to get this started, probably a combined Mad4U feature article on their weekly events)
-Tabletent ad (I will get this done soon, easy to do!)
-Postcard (While we are not sure Shari will use this, the professors want us to at least put something together for experience- start next class which is a project lab)
As far as filming.. we have filmed: madison mediates, creative madison, gulf benefit, 9ball practice/pizza and interviews, staff meeting (briefly)
We need to film: live at the drum 3/30 @ Festival, tunes at noon on Fridays, open mic Tuesdays 7:30, karaoke Th 8, maybe interviews at staff meeting?
-I am also emailing shari to get the original file for the pictures they have on the facebook site to add and i took some too
As far as the theme for everything:
-we need to mention that Mad4U is designed to create opportunities for "radical participation and inclusiveness"shari and students can "get an education and have balance"- meet a great network of friends
-in all materials mention to "follow us on twitter @ Madtweets4u and like us on Facebook
Sorry this is alot but since we were away we haven't really been able to catch up. Martin, keep us posted on when we can finish the filming

Mad4U weekly events (for brochure)
Weekly Events:
Tuesday - Open Mic Night at 7:30pm
Every Tuesday night in Taylor Down Under Madison 4 U hosts an open mic night, which gives JMU students an opportunity to be in the spotlight. Students can sign up to perform by calling the TDU hotline (540-568-7853) starting on Tuesday morning.
Tuesday and Thursday - Madison Meditates at 12:30pm
Madison Meditates, which meets in Taylor 405 and is led by JMU professor Jared Featherstone, encourages students to expand their knowledge within and beyond their own faith traditions by experiencing secular meditation opportunities.
Mindfulness meditation has enabled many people to understand their stress, improve personal relationships, and develop deep concentration, using methods practiced for over 2500 years. No experience is necessary. Cushions, mats, and chairs will be provided, though you are free to bring your own. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome.
Wednesday - Teatime at 4:00pm
Come celebrate "hump-day" every Wednesday over Tea and scones! Teatime has quickly become a tradition for community building and sharing, over a cup of hot tea provided by Mad4U. Teatime will be in the Student Activities and Involvement Office, Taylor 205A until the Taylor Patio renovation is complete. We will be outside after that as weather permits.
Thursday's Rotate Programs
Karaoke at 8:00pm
Madison 4 U changes the theme once a month, so you might find yourself at "Scary-oke", "Care-oke", or even "Flower Power Karaoke"! Everyone is welcome to come check it out- it's a blast! Program held on the stage in TDU.
Poetry Open Mic at 8:00pm
Once a month we invite performance poets, emcees, page poets and fans of poetry to step on the TDU stage and take the mic. No one style reigns and every voice is welcome.
Friday Night Programming Variety
Mario Kart? Smash Bros?
Madison 4 U will be hosting a tournament event once a month in TDU and once a month in the Festival Drum and J Maddy's (also in the drum area). Prizes will be awarded. See calendar for exact dates and times. **Calendar information above!
Dancing Anyone?
On Friday nights Madison 4 U takes a dance lesson or enjoys a performance by one of JMU's premier student organizations. On any given Friday around 10pm, you'll find Swing Dance, Latin Dance, Lion Dance, Break-dance, or even Belly Dancers. Learn some new steps and bust a move, or enjoy a performance.
Weekend Action
Madison 4 U hosts billiards tournaments in the Corner Pocket down in TDU. Every month 9-Ball is played competitively. See the monthly calendar for details. In the spring we'll put together a travel team who will represent JMU at a 5 state regional tournament sponsored by the Association of College Unions International, (ACUI). Look for the ACUI Qualifying Tournament in late November or early December. ** Where to get calendar information is listed above!

Shari,
I cc'd my group members so that they can try and make it the meeting, I believe they are all free, so there are 4 of us total. I love the convenience of gmail- at my internship at the hospital we use Outlook, and although professional and helpful, I still resort back to default gmail. Also, we had decided as a group to do some research on different promotion and marketing techniques used in similar settings on University campuses, so we will bring what we find to the meeting so that we can do some creative brainstorming. Thanks and see you Thursday.

Shari,
I just though I would pass this along. As a group we wanted to some research before our meeting on Thursday about Madison Meditates. I came across an interesting website that promotes student meditation across nationwide Universities. There is a section with a list of Universities who have existing meditation programs with contact information (could be helpful to ask around for suggestions on successful promotion techniques). The site is not overly complex or professional but I thought it was an interesting resource to have when working on promoting Madison Meditates.

Looking forward to meeting on Thursday at 1:45 to further discuss all of this. The two boys in my group will be joining me, Martin and David
Wow Kelly, good work. I look forward to browsing the site when I get a chance. Thanks for sending. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Peace. Shari- 1 February 2011 11:38
